你有听过雷梅斯-诺特雷-达梅这个在义大利的小山村吗？这个小镇位于海拔17,000米的深山河谷之中，大概只有二十户人家。在高山上，不仅人烟稀少，天气变化也极大。除了有偶尔来滑雪的游客，小镇的居民基本上都是跟山林动物为伴。
 
Louis Oreiller 是已经在这小镇居住了84年的山羊牧人。从小就在高山里成长的他，曾经试过狩猎、走私、种田，一辈子都是靠双手维生。在荒无人烟的小镇里，他每天跟飞鹰、树木、小狗和牛羊结伴，更学会了聆听山丘发出的声音。高山对他来说并不是考验，而是84年的家。
 
高山人类学家Irene Borgna发掘了Louis 的故事，决定把他口述的回忆纪录下来。在这缺乏耐性与恒心的年代，Louis 细细道来的人生显得更动人心灵。
 

关于作者：

Louis Oreiller 生于1934年，很少离开过雷梅斯-诺特雷-达梅的山谷。他熟悉山谷内的每一块石头、每一道裂缝和每一颗树。他像其他的山镇居民一样，可以用双手做任何事情 –务农，以草药治疗创伤，做木工等等。他也可以用木头雕成千奇百怪的雕像。

Irena Borgna 是一名高山人类学博士，并将山区变成她的爱好和工作。她是一名提倡环境保育的大自然向导，常常带着旅客爬到山峰。她收集了Louis Oreiller 口述的故事，并且十分欣赏Louis 以古语讲述故事的天份。
