本书探讨了现代城市在当下所面临的问题和挑战：拥挤、投机、贵族化、私有化、污染、观光旅游业、流动性等

人们为什么会离开城市？因为他们有某个因素将他们推出去，这有可能是房价、观光旅游产业带来的不方便、人口数量变太多，等各种原因。慢慢地，我们发现很多城市人口越来越少，也越来越老化。这或许不是很明显，毕竟大城市的人口流量一直在变化，旅客也一直占满空间。

现代的城市越来越难居住，房价变得越来越高。我们似乎在玩一场大富翁桌游，只有有钱人配住在城市里，没钱的人不配。政府也宁愿花钱吸引游客以及游客带来的消费，也不会花钱让中产以及低产人口更能够在城市里待下去。城市规划人员考虑的不是城市的未来，而是如何帮城市盈利。

Jorge was born in Benavente (Zamora) in 1974. He holds a degree in journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and his professional career includes newspapers, radio, magazines and institutional communication. He currently teaches reading and writing at the Escuela de Escritores, works in corporate communications for the Dobleh agency and collaborates with the magazine La Marea.
