“Oosterbaan looks at how things affect us in a personal and a scientific way. It’s all brilliantly relatable.” • • • • • – nrc Handelsblad

“Oosterbaan, sociologist and journalist, explains in an illuminating and appealing way what we do with things and what they do with us. And concludes that all these things are going a bit over the top.” – Trouw

“Warna Oosterbaan has the amazing gift of naming and describing the obvious. Suddenly, as a reader, you are aware of the special relationship you have with all your things. […] In addition to getting rid of things, the book also deals with the ordering, tidying and repairing of things. Here too, the book makes you look at the obvious with fresh eyes. That is what makes The World of Things so unique.” – Mixed Grill
